"Waiting" 20x24 Acrylic on Canvas - Framed
This lady in red is
steaming as she waits and wonders whether she’s been stood up by her date. All dressed up and nowhere to go? Will she be spending the evening alone with
her book?
"White Sand, Blue Sea"
36x48 Mixed Media on Canvas
WITH SEASHELLS Framed
I can't get enough of
the beauty of Jamaica's powdery fine white sand beaches and rocky
outcroppings. The island is such an interesting combination of
breathtaking mountains and stunning coastlines.
"Garden Rooms"
24x36 Acrylic on Canvas - Framed
I’m drawn to secret, hidden places. I couldn't decide whether I wanted to wander
down this sunny pathway investigating each room or to remain cautiously at the
entrance, intrigued by what might be hidden at the shadowy end of the path.
"Labor of Love"
20x30 Acrylic on Canvas - Framed
I’ve learned that women are the farmers in much of
Africa, producing 80% of the continent's food. Paradoxically, most of the
training programs offered there are directed to men. I was captivated by
the love and nurturing demeanor of this woman who is keeping her baby close
while she toils for their food.
"Gone Fishin" 24x36 Acrylic on Canvas - Framed
My husband is an avid
fisherman. He has spent many a peaceful afternoon enjoying a quiet spot in
a lake like this one of many South Carolina lakes.
"Dark Andalusian"
16x20 Acrylic on Canvas - Framed
When you look at this little filly, you
might think that mane is highly improbable, but this gorgeous creature really
had all those wild and curly tresses.
"Golden Lilies"
30 x 36 Acrylic
on canvas - Framed
"Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor
or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like
one of these." That's what I remember every time I look at a
delicate lily.
"Black Fresian"
30 x 40 Acrylic on Canvas - Framed
I once saw a quote about Fresians, those appealing black horses from Holland, which said, "Black is
Beautiful". I was captivated and knew I had to try to capture the
beauty.
"Mustangs at Sunrise"
36x48 Oil on Canvas Framed
The
wild mustang or "ownerless" horse was almost hunted to
extinction. These three seem ready to face the day as they band together
for safety in numbers.
"Lone
Mustang"
36x48 Oil on Canvas Framed
I was introduced to horses recently and it began a mild fascination with the
creatures. I found them large and scary at first, with their massive
girth and enormous feet. After a little time spent mucking stables and
saddling horses, I soon lost the fear and spent more time admiring these
noble beasts.
"Eden Remembered"
24 x 30 Acrylic on Canvas - Framed
I
like to think, this is how Eden might have been before the fall. This
woman bathing in Trafalgar Falls, Dominica could be Eve, contemplating
paradise.
"To Market"
30 x 40 Acrylic on Canvas - Framed
The most intriguing
thing to me as a child, was seeing the market women with several baskets on
their heads, walking with a swaying gait and no hands for balance. Not
once did I ever see one drop a basket...and I always watched to see if they
did. You've never seen a more graceful sight.
